View Full Version : UI too big to use

My PC has become virtually unusable as everything on the screen is too big for it all to fit. It is as if the Display options are haywire. But I cannot check the Display options as I can see only the top of the Display dialog box in the control panel as it is so big and there are no sidebars to move up and down.

The screen looks as though one of the Accessibility options has been checked to assist the nearly blind. All the buttons are about ten times magnified.

I have reinstalled Windows 98 which did not fix the problem.

When using the mouse, all the useful right click options seem to have been disabled.

Another oddity is that no programs are offered from the start menu.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Grant

Firstly, welcome to PF1.
Secondly, have you tried starting the computer in safe mode? Press F8 on startup to do this. You should be able to change the settings, although it does seem strange that it still shows this behaviour after a reinstall.
Has any new hardware been added? Did anything change since the system was working fine?
Do you know what kind of video card (if any) you have and do you have the latest drivers?
