I reformatted my computer the other day and installed Windows 98SE but Windows didn't have any drivers for my modem or my graphics card so now the computer has generic drivers on the graphics card. I've been trying for days to get the right drivers can someone please help me get the right drivers?

For a start, take the covers off and have a look. Most cards are identified. Other wise, there are programmes available. Aida 32 & SiSoft. Both are freeware.

Then do what Peter H suggested. find and ownload and install and run those programmes, that's the next step. Not familiar with them myself in the general run of things with comps. that 's the formaula. Chers MC :D

if you can't actually find the modem or graphics card, perhaps they are onboard. on that case make sure you have the proper motherboard drivers installed.

go to the website that your motherboard comes form (asus, aopen etc..)
and download the drivers for your model.

aida32 will help you to identify you motherboard. and maybe even have a link to the manufacturer's site.
