I have Window Xp and I tried to run the Windows 2000 Professional setup but I get the message 'Program too big to fit in memory'. Does anyone know how I can install Windows 2000 professional?

Thanks in advance

You can't run the W2K installation from within XP. Assuming you wish to revert to W2K, you would probably be better advised to reformat your HDD and do a clean install from scratch, booting from the W2K CD.

If youn have data that you need to save, make a backup to CD or another hard drive before you reformat.

Advice on reformatting is available from the PF1 FAQs at the top right of the page

Well, I booted the computer into dos with cd-rom support using the winme startup disc. I then tried running the setup but to no avail with the same error message 'Program too big to fit in memory'.

Any solutions?

Boot from the CD

Use the actual win2000 cd and change your bios setting to boot from cd rom as the first boot device. Watch the screen as well as you may have to press a key to enter the win2000 setup.
