Hey everybody,
Did anyone see the article on TV1 news (I think it was) about the name of the website that you write in your name and friends names and it links you to people all over the world. I was curious to see what it was like. I saw the article but cannot remember the URL.
Thanks
Jase

I didn't see it, but I'm guessing it's probably http://www.sixdegrees.com/]Six Degrees[/url] - based on the idea of Six Degrees of Seperation.

It looks like the site is being redone at the moment.

Its where you put in the names of your current friends and then their friends come up and you can supposedly form like a connection with other people from around the world. It works on the principle of that everybody is linked to everybody else in the world through your friends.

Like for example you are friends with BOB who is friends with STEVE who is friends with HANK who is friens with CHUNG who is friends with CHARLES who is friends with you. (or something like that anyway).

I was looking for it for my mum actually.

why did tv3 promote it if they are relaunching it? they should have waited...

or was it on tv for a completely different reason

It is something like that and If I remember correctly, it has over 2 million members. Im guessing that it will be very American though.

Yes a completely different reason. They weren't promoting it

Its sounds very much like the site I gave the URL for earlier... or perhaps a similar site. Six Degrees.com has been around for a few years now (at least 4 years since I put my name in it).

Im sure that it wasnt six degrees. This may sound silly but I dont remember the URL but if someone said it I would recognise it. It might have been something like www.friendsies.com or www.friendzies.com or something similar. I have tried both of these and they do not exist.
