definition of a clan for you not know what a clan is peoples...

Ok well its like a team sort of thing, like you know how when your playing online and you see peopel like etc "{IPT}Eclipse or what ever, yeah well the "{IPT}" part is the clan.

Well you play in a clan like there are tourements and stuff, its sort of like a Super 12 rugby team, except there are ALOT more clans that super 12 teams, yeah and like yeah there are tourements and all that.

BF1942?

Well I hired the game last week and had a ball, since then have downloaded the multiplayer demos and my son, brother-in-law, a mate and I have had a few lans with that. I may have to buy the game with any $$ I get from Father Christmas.

Then I may just have to join Chris' clan, are oldies (over 30) allowed? I get rassed in CS as I am old enough to be the father for most of them, until I start telling them to learn from the master and lthen ead the scoreboard ;) DOD is a nice diversion too.

Look for a n00b me in the New Year Chris.

Don't want to bust your bubble but ... that official PressF1 gif logo will have to go from your site - preferrably before it comes to the attention of IDG staff. :)

Both ImageF1 and ChatF1 were asked to remove PressF1 logo's, hence the disclaimers on both sites about not being assoicated with IDG Communications Ltd.

ok it is gone now.

Well done, that was fast work :D - you don't want the IDG bigwigs waving sticks at you for an innocent mistake :)

So what server and when do you play? I wanna join in the fun.
Evenings but not late are best for me (say up to 11:pm tops, but not tonight, Josephine).
robo.
PS Jester, you hang in there old man. The "old man" in the Sven Hassel books was well respected.

Any server in particular? Would be very disappointed not to find you.
Have registered on your web site, BTW.

Hey, we're not complete nazis, you know, Stu.
As long as it says something like "this site is in no way supported, sponsored, or endorsed by IDG, but we're not complete pratts so just get out there and have fun, okay?" I am sure it would probably be all right. Well, you get the idea.

What's with incessantly bumping up the thread?
There are no unanswered questions in the thread (that I'm aware of ?:|) which would justify bumping it up so in essence couldn't it be classed as post padding?
Most people interested in joining a BF1942 clan would have already been through your site for opinions and if they liked it they would've joint. If you want more people to join then how about hitting the JetstreamGames Forums (http://forums.jetstreamgames.co.nz), the GamePlanet Forums (http://forums.gameplanet.co.nz), or the Recoil Forums (http://forums.recoil.net.nz/) which are users more dedicated to gaming?

Alternatively you could try recruiting around the Orcon Forums (http://forums.orcon.net.nz/) considering they provide hosting for BF1942 along with the updates for the game?

Instead of bumping this thread wouldn't it have been more "fitting" to make this post on your own forums in which users of the forums would see the message and thus reply?

Or even better - send out an email to everyone asking for a response if they are active or not? And if you really want to show some initiative you'd use BCC on your email client and just do a generic mailer!

Otherwise, assuming PHPBB (or whatever you use) supports it you could've done a mailing form from there!? (and that'd show a bit more than initiative!)

Another idea is that if you really do want to prove that there is some intelligence out there you would implement email confirmation on your forums so users have to click a link instead of being able to sign straight in!

However, for the sake of simplicity how's about just leaving the users as they are regardless of whether the accounts are being used or not? That's how most major forums work and they seem to do alright with it...

Wow - must be my age showing here too, but I well remember Sven's "Old Man". Sheesh, that woulda been 20+ years ago that I read those!

I re-read Monte Cassino recently, it's not exactly Booker Prize stuff but they were a good read (although not appropriate in some respects for teenagers).
