Have reinstalled Outlook, but cannot access files from previous installation, altho I can see them in the OE folder I created last time - they appear as a series of .dbx files. Can anyone tell me how I (a) change the default file location in Outlook or (b) recover the .dbx files into their current location??

I don't use Outlook but, *Bump* someone else should be able to help you.

I am confused.
Outlook and Outlook Express are entirely separate and different applications. The similar naming causes a lot of confusion.

Outlook 2000 uses .pst files
Outlook Express uses .dbx.

If you want your Outlook Express files into Outlook, then import the using Outlook using File - Import

Godf, you're right, of course - my .pst file was hanging around somewhere else, and I've imported it. The .dbx files were from an old installation of OE. Thanks for reminding me - I'd still be searching the web for a solution to something that wasn't a problem! Cheers.
