I am using 'Jetstart' with 'Jetbuster' from slingshot.co.nz
The Html & page graphics are compressed, doubling the speed of the Jetstart.
Doesn't speed up downloads or secure servers. Isp fee $16.60pm plus $8 for the 'Jetbuster'.

Has anyone else used it?

I would have had my doubts about their claims for browsing acceleration, but apparently some of those things do work (http://www.dansdata.com/propel.htm)

Correct - these items can be cached, which is how the compression system works - the ISP cache downloads the image, compresses it then forwards it to you.

Correct again - secure content can not be cached or read by a cache, obviously for security reasons so is not compressed.

Downloads from things like Kazaa, DC etc will also go by uncompressed.

I've used the Ihug equivalent accelerator program as a test for my employer, it worked well, but for me personally the compression artifact and loss of image quality negated the increase in speed.

Can the service be switched on and off when a full resolution image is required?
