Just went there...went OK until it started to check my system for updates and then it spazzed...

Best advice? Try it again later...

yup, thats the one. Thanks guys...just as I suspected. Hopefully it will be up again tomorrow or something. Maybe some hacker found an overflow in the overflow flow or something??

If you put that error number into Google it comes up with quite a few pages with useful information. :-)

How about this one:

After an hour of trying to fix this problem I finally fixed it. Use this URL to access the windows update site:http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp?page=productupdates&sec=criticalupdates . I'm not sure if it works with everyone but hopefully this will help you.

Thanks Susan, I found that page too but no luck.
Found a lot of other pages as well but still nothing.
Thanks though.

Fixed it guys, needed to remove English(NZ) and add English(US) in the languages under general options in IE. Seems strange that this stopped Windows update but it seems a few other people have had the same problem. Maybe B.G wants us all to learn how to type and speak English *properly*.

Try this https://V4.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Instead of the default http://V4.Windowsupdate.microsoft.com

It worked for me.

Really?! :O

I wonder how someone managed to figure out that one?? My one is English(NZ) and worked fine the last time I tried it. How strange.
