Hi y'all, i just got a couple of those wireless cards from dse (Cat No: XH8135 - $69.00 at all good dse stores!), and they work just fine for my home wireless network, but i had a couple of questions.

Once you have set up WEP (this is for an Ad-Hoc setup), do you have to type in the key every time you want to connect?

Also, i would like to upgrade from WEP to WPA - do you know if dick smith have firmware upgrades for this? Im presuming that these cards are rebranded, so even if you could tell me the original brand, i could get the upgrade from their website.

Thanks for any help given.

Here's some info on the actual chips which make the card work, but I don't know if that will help.

Try running a program like AIDA32 (http://aida32.hu/) and see if you can find out the exact make/model of the cards.

Otherwise find the FCC ID on the card itself, and do a google search for it, or enter it into here: https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm and see if it comes up with the manufacturer.

There should be a sticker somewhere on the card which has the FCC ID on it.
