well, basically, i finally downloaded a huge mov file in a zip folder. after finding it was corrupted and i could not unzip it, i found a zip repair program and fixed the zip file. but then, after opening the mov file, it just stays on that one frame after about a minute and the music/sound keeps playing. i am assuming it is corrupted but i cant find a .mov repair program. i have seen hundreds for avi, mpeg, and all other windows formats but i cant seem to find the mov one, any ideas?

I see flashget has some zip fixer or something. I think what it does is just download the corrupted parts again.

See what your download manager can do if you used one

If you have the moviefile, try with Virtual Dub to read it.

Are you sure the file completed downloading properly?

Zip has primitive recovery algorithms, if any. Rar is much better.

Try renaming the file extension (.mov -> .avi or .mpeg).

Where did you download it from. If from a P2P network it could be a 'fake' or useless programs like kazaa can corrupt downloads quite easily.

A movie editor program might be able to import the video stream, and then you could manually cut out the corrupt frames and then convert the new file.
