Yes opera bookmarks isn't very intuitive with their GUI editing (manage bookmarks)- especially when you have like 200urls.

I'm having a go with the text editor myself, but somehow the changes I've made aren't showing up. A whole folder with urls in it has disappeared. :o

Anyone know how to work this opera bookmarks to make it respond properly?

To get opera to import my bookmarks from internet explorer click on the bookmarks menu option, click on "manage bookmarks", click on the "file" button and the "Import Internet Explorer Favorites" button.

I find it a lot easier to edit them via the Hotlist - can't really work out why the Manage Bookmarks ui is even there :P

What do you mean by hotlist,Spuddy?I'm trying to sort them out in Opera too, especially since I've got the mouse controls going better!

Hi Neil,

Remember that F4 toggles the Hotlist off and on. :-)

Opera does seem to be much faster these days, doesn't it? It is a pity that the tabs do not behave the same way as Firebird, or if they can I still haven't found out how to make them the same. :-(

You will find your Favorites Folder under C:\WINDOWS\Favorites.

Thanks Susan.Have somehow got the scroll button opening new windows, like Firebird opens new tabs,so that makes it easier to use, without actually going to that new window, until you select it.
Don't know how to set that up,as I was fiddling with the scroll button and it asked me if I wanted it set up that way!!!But it just closed down on me a minute ago, while reading that magical internet tricks post.
:O

I like it how firebird opens the new page up in the background. Cos with Opera I find myself constantly clicking back to the page I was just reading, before I opened the new window. Its a real pain.

I think you can go: right click on the link, open in background page. That does it. I wish opera would let you customise the right click menu to how u want it - anyone want to send a request to opera for it? ;)

Oh and how did you get the mouse scroll wheel opening up new pages in the background ?

btw 7.20 now has programmable centre button so you might be able to assign that to do what u want.
