Hi all
One small question - What can it do that a normal firewall can not (currently running Sygate free).

Cheers

The idea behind it is that it will block all IPs known to be associated with the RIAA/MPAA. OR maybe it is actually written by the RIAA/MPAA and is sending information directly to them :?:

For kazaa and emule to work properly, you have to allow the program to accept all inbound and outbound connections. If you are accepting all connections from that program, then it is likely you could accept a connection by the RIAA/MPAA and get busted. This is where IP blockers come in, they block out the bad IPs while you are using the P2P program.

Of course you could add the IP ranges into your personal firewall, but that is quite time consuming and there are like over 100ranges -(one advantage, you might become very skilled on the numpad). Its easier to get a list of the IPs and either use a program, or copy the list into k-lite or emule. Its not 100% protection but if you are looking for high protection use EarthStation 5 which routes your traffic through SSL anonymous proxies.
