Hello all.
We need a simple way to lock kids out of settings and control panel.
We are running XP PRo and kids log on as a user with limited account.
Where can I go as administrator to lock them, the little darlings, out of problem areas...
Any advice gratefully received
Thanks
Paul

Run -> gpedit.msc

Tons of settings in there for you browse over. I'm pretty sure there are some in there where you can stop people going into control panel etc.

That's just what you're after :-)

Download from:

My apologies.. I should have made myself clearer (They have more than one app at the site).

Download WinGuard Pro, and when installed you'll get the option of the free 15 day trial, or the free edition.

The Free edition should do all you need!

I also realise that download link I provided may be out of date, so just go to the home-page and get it from there!

Cheers

Under the start menu, control panel go to user accounts (while logged in as administrator). Select the kids account and click on properties. Under the group membership tab change them to a restricted user. This will prevent them from installing programs and changing system settings but will still let them save docs e.t.c.
Hope this helps
