Whenever i put in a cd like a game cd or an audio cd, i get a warning that the cd in the drive is not the windows 2000.... of course it's not, i wanna play motorcross madness! then it goes on to say, these files are unrecognised. Please insert the win2k CD to replace these files. On inserting the CD i get nothing... nothing happens!!!

Cheers

Are you accessing CD drive or is this on autoplay. Just thinking along the lines that you may be using a faulty shortcut. To test, try opening the CD using the icon in my computer.

if you got windows 2000, install SP4 to see what happens.

run anti-virus, adaware tools to see anything suspicious.

it may be a hardware fault, it may be your mainboard's ide controller or cd-rom drive itself. try a different cdrom(another brand)

What changes you made to the system hardware/software since last time it worked? undo the change if possible.

I'm not too sure if this is actually possible, but it could be that some components of Win2k on your computer have been set to "run from CD".

Perhaps also try ejecting the cd by right clicking on the cd drive. Then right click again and go 'close cd tray'.

That shouldn't be any different from pushing eject on the CD drive (theoretically).

Hi, You could try turning off autoplay and/or opening the cd in explorer and

double click MCM2.exe setup file....Play the game.

Cd will prolly need to be i.n.s.e.r.t.e.d.
