Hi, I have three hard drive partitions: C, E, F
I have stored a lot of my files on F drive and use it very often. Recently when I clicked on F to retrieve some files, it said that F drive is not formatted and whether I wanna format it!! That's Very Scary, I tell you. I dont have an idea what to do to retrieve my data on the drive. Please help. Ta.

Hi,
This can be a difficult and time consuming task for a non-computer geek and a nightmare to if U don't know what U are doing but since no one else offered a positive solution and somewhere for U to start.

try this free dos utility to test your hard drive partitions, mbr, etc

http://www.cgsecurity.org/index.html?testdisk.html

download and extract to a floppy, then boot to dos and run testdisk.

goodluck you'll need it :)

The 2 programs at the bottom of this (http://www.webattack.com/freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.shtml) page I have used and work very well.
