just a query here how often do people use instant messanger ?

doesnt matter what , who etc just how often do they use it?

i admit i really slack on this and have been deleted by lots as im not good at keeping up with people or not saying hi every week, day or month.... and was wondering if it was just me..

my main reason is im busy..... lazy and also have nothing to say except boring work / school stuff and have either if not motel stuff, have my head in a book or the puter lately so to all who are on my contacts lists im very sorry and have no excuses....
but im not good at remembering to say hi....
and with all the associated crap going on round here im amazed im still standing... but i do lose the plot a lot now... and my memory gets really foggy and .......

i just dont think about the people i should contact all the tie... like i used pre school and puter.... life has taken a downhill slide and im too immersed in puter . school or work stuff and all else is obliviend..

so back to original question....

how often do you use messager programs?

Trillian --> Covering all 4 of the major contact programs as I have contact with a vast range of people

Use Trillian when at home, when at work I use web-based ICQ all the time, and MSN on the machines it's installed on.

I use IM several times a day to keep in touch with uni friends out of town, discuss assignments with my uni classmates, catch up with family/old mates etc...

Advantage of having ADSL means that while my PC is always sitting there churning out MP3's I can stay connected and people can catch me if they come on.

If I'm online I will have an IM client running. So pretty much when ever I am home I'll have one running.

There are only around three to five people that I regularly talk to (eg. daily) while others I talk to occasionally. Then some I have never talked to. Just about to do a sort out and clear out some contacts I don't need.

ICQ used to be my primary messaging program, however nowdays I mainly use MSN.
I certainly dont use them as much as I use to, probably because i've gone away from the whole "net chat" thing, not as fun as it used to be, Probably because every man and his dog has the net now.

There are settings in Trillian under ICQ Privacy whereby you can set it to not accept messages from spam bots or from contacts not on your list.

yeah i have all those settings set. that cuts out most of the spam but now and then you still get a request to add to your list with a message "come and see me at pornXXX.com" however it has been very good of late, icq is getting better at getting rid of spammers.
