This is a very old one. In fact so old I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten it.
I just want to startup the internet dailup automatically when I fire up the browser. I'm also using XP for the first time, which may be a bit different to W98(which I normally use).

Thats my excuse anyway, even though I've forgotten it in W98 too!!

In Internet Explorer 6.

Click Tools, Internet Options, Connections and check the box that says "Always dial my default connection.

Hi Elephant That doesn't work for some reason, I had a feeling its somewhere in the Internet section on the control panel (at least in W98) but I can't find anything, apart from the same setting you provided.

I did a search over old postings and this question comes up a few times but was always unanswered

go into IE, enter a URL and hit go your dialup connection box will come up and you can tick the automaticall connect option in the middle of the box, doing this from memory so i think thats right.

Yahoo! Good one zip1nz, IE slips straight into it.
Now the thing is how do you do it for Opera?????????
Actually in W98, from memory, if you did it for one it worked for all, but it doesn't apply in this case.

Luvvly One . Thank you very much Jim. Perhaps this would be a good FAQ subject as it must happen to a lot of people?????????

I would also like to know how you found it at Opera I found their search engine particularly useless!
