i have not signed in windows messenger or intend to as i don't really use it, how can i remove messenger as my firewall indicator is showing me that messenger keeps trying to access the inernet every few seconds or so.

Note: that FAQ will take a wee while to load, but it will load :)

Run the line of code below in the run dialog and MSN Messenger will uninstall

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Have a look at the thread,MSN6,old or new version, below.

You will probably have to do what vk dre, has suggested but
you need to confirm what you want rid of!
