I have an ABIT KG7 motherboard coming to replace an existing faulty one.

The ABIT takes 184 pin DDR PC1600/PC2100 SDRAM.

I have plenty of what I will call ordinary SDRAM, what is the difference, can I use my existing SDRAM initially just to get things running or is it totally different. I seem to recall that the SDRAM was 168 pin and if that is correct then, well - I have answered my own question, damit :-)

With regards to the hard drive, is there anything I need to do to use my existing drive with the new motherboard?

System Win ME, 512 Mb SDRAM, 20 gig Maxtor 7200RPM and 1.2 gig Athlon

If the Motherboard ( New ) is different to the old motherboard then you will have to load the chipset drivers into your WinMe installation.

with the new motherboard you will need to remove the old motherboard drivers and install the new ones EVEN IF THE MOBO'S ARE SIMILEAR. there is also a possibility of needing a windows reinstall.
