This is a Q&A on the local on-line auction seen earlier tonight and
thought it comical!Advertised is a 17 inch conventional CRT monitor.

would think the space saved would be all of
1 inch!

Ask the seller a question
Hi, if I win the bidding can I pickup to see it working? posted by: karlherkt (7) 6:54 pm, Thu 24 Jul

Yes I can connect it to my computer where I have had it working. It has been donated to the StMary's Church garage sale from a person who has just moved into a smaller house and has purchased a flat screen to save space.

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

They probably purchased a flat panel in which case the space saving would be huge. About 50mm deep vs 450mm?

are flat panel and flat screen the same or is flat panel hung on the wall like those new plasma tV's?

cheers,

A flat screen description is used to describe either an LCD panel or a flat screen CRT.
Its all in the mouth of the describer, but a flat panel usually describes an LCD (and Plasma wall hanging screens are not currently used on home PCs, so unsure why you raise that?)

Its hard to confuse a "panel" with a CRT, but easy to confuse a descriptor of a "flat screen"
