View Full Version : Outlook 2000 issues

I have recently purchased a new machine with XP Home OS and loaded my Office 2000 (with SP1) and Norton internet security 2002. The machine accesses the internet via ADSL.
My problem is with Outlook (and Outlook express) when I try to send or receive e-mail. The outlook applications require me to enter my password every time I send/receive.
I have checked the "save password" feature, but this does not seem to work as every time I enter my password the box is unchecked.
The error dialog box states " you need to enter a password" error code 0x800ccc92
The other annoyance is that Word will sometimes not respond as the e-mail editor, not allowing me to read e-mail.
The error in this case is that Word has stopped responding or has an open dialogue box. On many occasions Word has not even been opened, it is only running in the background as the editor.
Can anyone help with this? My new computer experience is rapidly becoming an annoyance! This did not happen with my old Win98 machine. Have I set it up incorrectly?

These problems are not your fault, this sort thing in Windows systems is not uncommon and very annoying for many people.
