Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-60xe intel 815ep
CPU: Pentium3 866mhz
Memory: sdram 128
HDD: 40G

Purchased this pc from trademe. It did not come with any drivers i got them from the Gigabyte site

I am having problems installing Win 98 or even 95. I have managed to install 98 but the system seems to crash all the time and it will not install programs properly ie will installl up to a point then stops and comes up with all these errors. I am sure it is not the software as i have used them succesfully on my other PC. I try to install the drivers for onboard sound and chipset but i can't get them to work properly either.

Is there a way of installing the motherboard driverd first without having to install a operating system or do i need to try installing a more modern OS such as 98se, ME, 2000nt or if this system can handle XP?

Any help much appreciated.
