I have home XP and am wanting to make backup copies of my sons CDRom Games. I know how to do copies of my music CD's and am wondering if I do the same procedure for the games?

Copying games will usually not be as straight-forward due to copy protection. as there is a legality issue regarding this you may find little response to your question. Try a search on Google.

Hi Starfish, here are a couple of good sites to check out which i was given here awhile ago, they are both very imformative & have step by step instructions on burning re:speeds, protections etc... and it does state on one of them that as long as you own the game you are allowed to make a backup???(but people have differing opinions on that.)

Under Game Tools (http://gamefix.free.fr/safedisc_nero.htm)

Under Backup Protected cds (http://www.gamecopyworld.com/)

Now wot games are we talling about? How old is your son. If he plays games for children aed 6-12 then even programs like Adaptec and Nero can copy them without a problem. But if he's older and plays games like Colin McRae Rally, and all other games that are in that age group then u should most probably use Clone Cd and also download its Clony DBXXL Games Protection Database. Load clony when u copy the cd so that u can copy without a problem.

cheers,
