View Full Version : No Keyboard during Boot-up

I have Windows 2000. About a year ago, for no known reason (no virus as far as Norton was concerned), when I turn on my computer, I have no Keyboard or mouse control until the very last stages. This means that I am unable to access the setup should I ever have the need to do so.
Also it is very annoying as when the computer boots, I am requested to choose from two applications which are both identical: Windows 2000 (The system as always given me the two options since purchased new??). As I am unable to hit enter to choose one of these, I have to wait for the 30 second automatic countdown - as if the boot up wasn't long enough already!!.

Stumped Badly

Are your keybd & mouse USB or PS2.
If USB, change to a PS2 Keybd & try that.
If you then have use of keybd from bootup, then USB Keybd will have to be enabled in the BIOS.
Check the BIOS setting, change it, then plug your USB keybd back in.
