View Full Version : Office XP Professional Outlook and Outlook Express 6.0

Am able to receive messages using Outlook and OE6, but not send. Has Nortons but the outgoing mail check is disabled, incoming still on, as that is a known issue. Also installed the patch for Outlook XP from microsoft which supposedly addressed this issue, still no go. Office XP Sp1 installed. Any ideas? any references to other patches? it's an ihug email and isp account, other than directing me to the OL patch on ms, they're clueless. as am I...now ?:| any help most appreciated, I have 2 clients now which have this issue.

Have you checked they servers stats page????

Strange, there is not much preventing sending of messages.

What error message do you get when you try to send mail
Are you sure the modem has not disconnected after receiving mail.

Check OE Tools|Accounts|Properties|Servers
Check Outgoing mail(SMTP) is: smtp.ihug.co.nz
Check My server requires authentication is not ticked.

Under Advanced Tab check Outgoing nail is set to 25 and require a secure connection is not ticked.

If there is any mail in the Outbox delete it as this can get corrupted and prevent any mail being sent.
Write up a new test message with an empty Outbox and send that and report what happens and any error messages.

Have you a firewall such as Zonealarm installed, check settings or disable for a check.
