Hi there :)

I was wondering, if I swap a 256 SDRAM (PC133) with a 256 DDR266, would I be able to notice a difference with the performance ie playing BF:1942? I could swap/upgrade to a 512 DDR266...but I'm sure the ram prices would go cheaper sooner or later (i know its cheap right now, but still i reckon it could go cheaper soon, hopefully).

So, would I be able to notice some difference while playing games or maybe during some programme loading?

Thanks alot :)

The biggest question is can your motherboard take DDR RAM. Most motherboards take either SDRAM or DDR RAM, but some have separate slots for both.

You might notice a difference, but it depends on what OS you're running, your motherboard, and your CPU

As stated if your mobo can take both sorts and you have a decent cpu then u will recieve a significent speed increase,

Some mobos (that support DDR and SDRAM) can only use 1 or the other. NOT both at the same time.

And if your mobos is only for SD, you cant put DDR in, coz it's keyed differently, and wont fit

Yes, my motherboard can support DDR and SD rams. I'm running Win98Se and with a Duron 1.3Ghz...so would I feel a difference? If so, by how much...?

Thanks :)
