Reloaded WIN XP Home & access is denied to a folder on the d: drive now. File system is NTFS. Have looked for answers at technet, but these only relate to WIN XP PRO permissions etc.

So what the hell do I do to gain access to this folder again.

Hellllpppp!!!

Ok, go to "Folder Options" (in a explorer folder windows - Tools - Folder Options) Go to View - "Use simple file sharing" trun it off! Then go to the drive, go the Permissions tab, click on Advanced - Then Owner and my yourself the owner and give yourself all permissions. :) Should work!

Thanks for the advice James, but this is only any good for WIN XP Pro as I said above, so we are still stuck here.

I think you can go into safe mode and do it from there the same way as PRO
