I've got the Beta 2 Kit here. Last time I was playing around with it, it seemed quite nice. Not sure when it will be released. Probably when they've got the bugs down to what they're happy with.

how ya get ur hands on that?
and isnt it silly to get something thats full of bugs?
or does it mean...u can install the beta kit and just use windows update 2 fix it?

I signed up with Microsoft to be a beta tester for it. It's not installed on my main computer. Plus they're only bugs.

You can't just update it to the latest through windows updates.

I would rather have a free BETA copy than a finished product full of bugs which is pretty much the norm with MS products :D

I have a beta copy as well which I use all the time. Have found one or two bugs but nothing serious.

How did I get it? Signed up for the beta program and they sent it to me via airmail from the USA. Came with about 14 CD's which included all sorts including Windows Server 2003.

Really nice to play with on a boring day.

Did it cost anything to sign up?

Nope didn't cost a cent :D Just the usual passport (MS type) and signing away your life.

eg. Just a matter of giving them your address and clicking "yes" to the text.

Where do you sign up for this testing things??? link! link! :p

Do they give beta testers free copies of the official product for helping them?

if that was the way things are...the shops wouldnt sell nething :P

i wanan sign up too

whats the basic and most important parts of the terms and conditions that we need to know, apart from the fact that its illegal to copy/write cds from the beta/full copies

Just visit www.microsoft.com, search the site for beta office 2003.

The beta versions expire end of November (as per your PC date), when they become viewer only.

You may need to fully uninstall any existing Office programs before loading the beta versions.

When I signed up I signed up from a link in one tweak'e's news posts. There was no cost other than the usual MS agreement.
