getting the following error message "Error ID = 0xC00D11BA, Condition ID = 0x00000000"

telling me that it can't find drivers etc but it was working ok just a few hours ago

Any clues?

Can't find what drivers? Can you tell us the whole error message?

Have a look at this link (http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/n1042332459) for some pointers to fixing your problem.

It seems that you need to point it to your actual soundcard, and not the "default" sound card. Seems like a bug to me, but there is plenty of info given

Hi Mike this is the complete error message.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another programme, or it may not be functioning properly

I have a creative sound card, running WME, have had media Player 9 installed and working fine for some weeks.

Stopped working yesterday
