View Full Version : XP Freeze!

I have a problem with my Win XP system. Pc will start up ok but the darn thing locks up within 0-1 minute of logging into my account. Have tried safe mode but same thing happens. Even if it is a PC Company comp it shouln't be doing this i have not installed any new programmes for long time and its only a year old. What to do? Any sugestion appreciated.

What about windows updates have you instilled any of them????
because one or two have been causing some problems with some pc.

try restoring your system to a earlier time , or reinstall your graphics drivers it also pays to have a image of your C: drive done for easy restoration in case of any trouble in the future

I guess you still have a warranty?

You don't give enough information for me to even attempt coming up with a solution.

1. What Motherboard have you?

2. CPU?


4. What are you doing when it locks?

5. Any error messages?

Stu, you mentioned some microsoft updates have caused freezes in xp... when I recently did some updates I have had the odd freeze... sometimes pc just slow to do things...is there a easy fix... or even a difficult one..??
