This is not quite your usual Windows Update but a catalogue of
all the patches, drivers, security & critical updates for W98 and later,
Worth bookmarking!I found it earlier at "Scot's Newsletter"!

Back in the Windows 98 days, Microsoft used to offer a website designed
to serve enterprise users that offered links to downloadable versions
of the Windows Update patches. The idea was that IT managers could get
around having to laboriously install patches on user machines via
Windows Update, but could instead set up automatic or manual patching
via saved installers stored on a network volume.

It was known as the "corporate Windows update" site by many, it was a
definite bookmark for many of us. But then Microsoft killed the site.
They've reopened a new version of it called the Windows Update Catalog:

Windows Update Catalog:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

It offers the ability to download and save installers for many Windows
patches and critical updates. It also provides downloadable versions of
device drivers offered on Windows Update. Chance are, this one Link of
the Week that's going to come in very handy.

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

As was mentioned in a similar posting very recently (also JenC gave the similar link), Micrsoft will pull the plug on the Windows 98 and 98SE section in December when they finally remove the last vestiges of support. So hurry all who havent got all the updates !

They can't have ditched it for long, cause I've been using the Corporate update site for a couple of years now... well for ME and XP anyway :)

TBH I never realised that they had killed the site between the 98 version and the newer one.
