You should get a reasonable computer for that price. Have a look on Trademe - Desktop Computer Systems (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Complete-Desktop-Systems/) for an indication of prices. Note that some of those systems are "box" only, that is no monitor, keyboard or mouse is included when comparing prices.

One thing to remember is that second-hand computers often come without the original Windows CD and key. So allow for the cost of an Operating System. Check out local Computer shops as well, as they sometimes sell second-hard PC's.

The PC Company also sells re-manufactured computers within your price range see here (http://www.thepccompany.co.nz/page.asp?objectid=180&level=2&TopLevelName=&selectedItem=Remanufactured%20PCs) which may suit your needs. They also come with the standard warranty that all their machines get.

Do you really want a second hand computer?

Be aware of the possible reasons someone may be selling, do you really want somone elses problem or junk?

For around $1000 you can get a good brand new computer, try looking on pricespy. Go to the sellers part and just click on one of the companies there. Most will ship to where ever you are.

Generally these companies have system packages for specific roles, ie gaming computers etc. This would depend entirely of what you wanted to do with it.

Between $600 amd $1000 I have seen cheap packages for, that include everything including waranties, support etc...Somthing you wont get when buying second hand..

Anyway good luck!!!
