I'm looking to buy a new video card.
I've sorta decided that a TI4200 would be the best.
(This decision reached after perusing Tom's Hardware and comparing the results with the contents of my wallet)
There are many of these cards listed on Price Spy of various brands.
My question is:
Are there any brands that are better than others?
Are there any brands to avoid?

TIA

Hi Jimbo

I ended up with a GeForce4 Ti4200 Leadtek WinFast A280 LE when searching for a new Video card. This model has had great reviews.

Specifications here (http://www.leadtek.com.tw/www/Web_Leadtek/vga/A280_letd.asp).

There is a local review here (http://www.overclockers.co.nz/ocnz/vga/leadtekti42008x/1.shtml)

Cheers

Jen

Ive just percahsed a Compro one from Starlyte for $265, the cheapest card there, the 128mb version got a 4.5 out of 5 on a respectable site so Im assuming it works well, of course its for a mate so I cant fully test it out, some reliable brands are- Leadtek, MSI, PowerColor.

I purchased a GeForce TI4600 - not much more expensive and am yet to find a game that slows it down. Try Paradigm. They keep prices pretty low. About $200.00 more - that's nothing, you pay more in a year buying milk.
