When click onto Network Neighborhood from computer A it sees both computers, it can even read & write to the other one (B).

But when I click on computer B Network Neighborhood all I 'see' is a ghost waving a torch,

Sometimes one of them works sometimes it does not. on either computer

Any help will save me going nuts, which I might be already thanks

After I had made the posting and went to turn the computer off (B) had found itself and the other computer.

Browsing the network that way is always a pain in the....
Can take a while for it to update with a list of all the PC's on the network.
The best way I've found is to right-click Network Neighbourhood icon and select Find Computer (or right-click My Network Places and select Search for Computers, depending on what OS you have!)
Then type in the name of the computer you want see and it should find it.
Then you can make a shortcut to it on your desktop.

Ah, that's something good to know.

I usually access other PC's by opening My Computer and typing this in the Address Bar:
\\computernamehere\computershare\

Works a charm :-)

I used to have a similar problem - except my two pcs (in the same room about 2metres apart) couldn't see each other except through my nieghbours pc - and one of mine is the "server" - but all of a sudden it came right and is no problem what so ever now
