In the mailbox of the current issue of PC world there is a letter entitled Death to Arrow Thingies. - dealing with "formatting of pasted text copied from MSoft Outlook Express to MSoft word..getting ridding of manual line breaks..the bent arrow thingies." Have searched here but to no avail. Anyone able to help please?

There are program that will do this for you, but the "Death to Arrow Thingies" letter is referring to a tip in the Dec/Jan 2003 issue of NZ PCW on page 120.

There is also a Thread (http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/thread.jsp?forum=1&thread=32227&message=139196&q=billy#139196) here that discusses the same problem the with arrow thingies :-)

That was quick! Good omen for a first post!! Thanks. I usually get the arrow thingies only in emails attached to, or embedded in, another email from someone. Hate the messy look, wasted space etc. Kate

Hi Katharinem, go into Google and type in eCleaner.exe ver 2.01.

Have found this an excellent copy/cut/paste program, to rid e-mails of those darn >>>>.

Have passed this software (it's free) advice onto others'.

The current lady friend is having trouble and not sure whether different versions of Windows affects the transfer.

Can anyone advise if the "drag" window should appear as a "black" or "blue" screen, ours shows "black" but her's shows "blue", and she can't "cut" it back fromeCleaner !!.

I use E Cleaner when required and rate it highly......There appears to be no spam or advertising related to this small prog.. and it is free....
