Explorer crashes too often !!!
Using Internet Explorer 6 with Windows 98SE

Crashes with KERNEL32.DLL fault message

Note past recommendation I have found on this site:
1) to reinstall over existing Int. Explorer. Have tried and it did not resolve the issue.
2) to replace KERNEL32.DLL ....have not tried yet. Can someone please tell me where to find a replacement and how to replace it.

Please advise if u know a better fix
thnx
Ken Burroughs

Do you have the exact error message.
Click the Details button when it comes up and get the first couple of lines.
Usually in the format of 'Iexplore caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll' but can be something else.
Post it here and we might be able to help.

Have you got an up-to-date antivirus package running and if so have you done a full system scan recently?

How much RAM does your PC have? This sort of message can appear when running Win98 without sufficient memory.

Using Trend PC-Cillan 2002
Found handful of file in Windows/Temporary Internet folder
They were JS_Exception.Gen & VBS_Haptime.A-1..quarnateened then deleted.

Ran Norton Utilitise...found a large number of problems throughout.
Chose auto fix

Still problem persists

Latest crash afterclosing IE6:
Explorer caused a general protection fault in Module GDI.EXE@0022: 00009fa4
Register: ...blah blah blah
Bytes@CS:EIP
....blah blah blah
Stack Dump
...blah blah blah

Without reboot opened Photoshop Elements 2
crashed saying very similar to above (substitute Photoshop for Explorer)

Plenty of Free GDI..but set manually to a higher level (was 384...now 500)

Any suggestions ?
