What ever happened to timed moves?

DEEP JUNIOR was beaten by humanoid Garry Kasparov in the first of six chess games yesterday against the cyberplayer.
Reports said that Kasparov won the game after a queen-queen swap, and early in the game he caused "Deep Junior" to pause for 25 minutes while it contemplated the significance of one of the humanoid's moves.

Either that, or it was having a severe identity crisis.

Kasparov was thrashed in 1997 by IBM computer Deep Blue, and claimed at the time that human beings were whispering suggestions into its data registers.

If he beats Deep Junior in the six match tourney, Kasparov will collect a cool $300,000 from the World Chess Federation in addition to the half million bucks he gets for just moving the bits of wood about the 64 square board.
