I'm just seeting up my hotmail address on Sky mail.
now i'm stuk, i need to no the server address (is this it? http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp) and the server IP?
if anyon no hotmails IP address, or where i can get it, much appreciated.
Also, is it POP3 or IMAP (i think tht was thhe other option)
o - one other thing, is there any way to hook up a standard keyboard to the sky decoder instead of forking out 100 buks for skys one?

Hotmail doesn't use a POP3 or IMAP mail server, it uses HTTP instead, so if you plan on using Hotmail with your email client (which I assume is skymail) your going to have to find the program which can convert the HTTP mail to POP3 for you - I'm sorry, but I can't remember it's name

have a look at http://pop3hot.com/

I Found pop3hot (http://www.pop3hot.com/main.htm) - this program converts HTTP Mail services to POP3, however it's only a 30 day trial.

If your willing to convert to YahooMail then they offer free POP3 services, otherwise you could try a free POP3 account (more info on both in this thread (http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/thread.jsp?forum=1&thread=29993))

If you use hotmail to get MSN Messenger access, then you can use your new pop3 account to access as a .NET passport which would enable you to access MSN Messenger that way - just fill out this form (https://register.passport.net/default.srf?sl=1) and that's it - access MSN Messenger using your email address that you signed up with...

I have just tried setting up my Yahoo Email address as a .NET Passport and it worked fine. So, after all this I would reccomend you get a Yahoo Email Address as that offers free POP3 mail, and then fill out the form and use your Yahoo Email Address as a .NET Passport

Umm....Fergie, how are you going to use a conversion program?

Bit hard to run a program on the set-top box?? ?:|

And an infra-red only keyboard is expensive whichever one you use, I suspect Sky use a proprietary IR coding as well, which may prevent a standard IR keyboard working (not to mention all the specialised function keys Sky use)

18 cents a minute! I would be unhappy about that ($10.80 per hour connect)

yeah, i thought about tht as well - wasn't to sure wot the program actually does.
Is there any other waay then?
Also, u are only online when u send the message - u can type it off line.

The simplest way to resolve it is to ask SkyMail if it can be done.
The product is a bit new to get definitive answers here perhaps. As SkyMail have to do any interface to other ISP's they will know.

If they don't support Hotmail, there is nothing you can do. No program you can run, as all interface is done by them, from their servers.
