... What really is so great about the taste of mussels?

[before ya flame me - I just wanted an opinion from a broader section of society, and I thought the geeks from F1 might be a good place to start]

There is a company down the road that make the most delicious BBQ flavoured mussels and sell them by the kilo for $10 a bag.

They are great! BUT only as bait for real fish.

Funnily enough, I cooked up a batch tonight...

1 X roughly chopped onion
1 X can of coconut cream
Half a cup of chardonnay
1 tablespoon of lemongrass paste
1 teaspoon crushed garlic

Awesome... simply awesome.

Sorry, that's 2 glasses of chardonnay... ;)

I'll eat them when they're there. I won't request them though. The main reason for eating them is just to annoy the people that really do like them :D

Give me a paua any day.

I'll bet you lot don't like:
- avocados,
- mushrooms or
- caviar

(But I've never seen the point in oysters)

For me:-

Crayfish. Caught fresh and boiled in a Billy on the beach. Split and buttered.

Oysters. Straight out of the tin or container they came in.

Mussels. Same as Oysters.

Paua. In fritters!

Oh dear..... My keyboard just died.... Probably 'cause I was dribbling. :-)
