i have a 8Gb harddrive currently with win98se and win2k on it
i want to reinstall win2k

is there possible to reinstall w2k without formatting the partition
all the program i intalled in w2k is installed on another partition
which i dont' want to keep

would it be possible to just delete the WINNT folder and documents and settings folder + the bootfiles of w2k

then just put in the w2k install disc while in w98se and install a clean install again?

I am a bit confused.......

You currently have 3 partitons on your HDD with Win98 and Win2000 in one each and the 3rd with your Win2000 programs.

yes - choose install without reformating option

You can reformat that partition (drive) so that it is blank again, but you cannot removed the partition - it has to stay or you will lose everything on your 8gig drive

What you ask is possible.
Backup important information first though.

The boot.ini file will need modification
Win 2000 application software will have to be reinstalled.

and. . . .

do you really like you write? or are you a Philistine?

Oh for editing

last line should read:
do you really talk like you write? or are you a Philistine?
