Only if the computers are networked, and using Internet Connection Sharing. Only 1 modem can connect to the line, and both computers would have to share the modem over the Network.

You cannot have two modems connected and operating at the same time, on the same line.

this sound like you need a proxy or some such.

a proxy is a little program the runs on pc1 and connects to the internet.

pc1 is now able to access the internet in the normal (modem) way.

pc2 is then networked to pc1 and it connects to the proxy.

NOTE: networking two Pc's could cost up to $60

does this sound like what you want??

To throw you a curved ball... you could get a 486/pentium pc, load linux and use that as a gateway to the internet/firewall (I use a product called Smoothwall). As the others have said, you need a small network to connect the pc's together to share the internet connection.

Any sharing also shares the speed of the modem, you don't get double the connection speed
