View Full Version : CD-ROM drive not reading

28-10-1999, 02:41 PM
This morning I was going through old magazine cds. I put one in and it worked fine. I couldn't find what I was looking for on that one so I tried another. For some reason the drive couldn't read this cd - or subsequently any other. The drive spins up like it is about to read the disk but just as it gets up to speed it winds down and tries again. It keeps doing this with any disk. I couldn't eject the disk (the 2nd one that didn't work) so I used the little manual ejection hole to get it out. I noticed that the disk has scratches on the inside ring. The bit where there's usually a barcode or writing.

The drive is a Creative 32x mx (Creative CD3230E PC102) and I'm running Win 95 sr 2.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.
