I have XP. When I put a CD Rom game into the drive it is making strange noises and also it is telling me there is no disc in the drive, what should I do?

Panic :D

Is it only one game CD which is doing this? What sort of noises? ;-)

what could have caused this?

my computer is only 2 months old so it should be covered by PC Company do you think????

Should be covered by the warranty.
Why would it happen?

1,001 reasons, and you will probably never know. Component failure?

On my CD-ROM drive there is a warning that cracked, deeply scratched or other poor quality discs used in the drive may cause damage to the drive. The CDs spin really fast in todays drive, perhaps that is what has happened to yours without you realising it.

If it has, the warranty won't cover it. But don't let that stop you getting the PC Company to check it out.
