When clicking on a link from an IE6 web page, I get the message "Error on page". Can I adjust my settings to overcome this, or is the problem on the page I am trying to access.

Er I more specific error message would help e.g. title of the window that pops up.

I'm guesing that they are javascript/activex errors on the web page.
To stop seeing them either:

1) Get the webmaster of the web site to fix their code.
2) Control Panel->Internet Options->Advanced (tab)->Browsing (section)->Uncheck the option "Display a notification about every script error" and make sure that the option "Disable script debugging" IS checked.

Go to Tools, Internet options, Privacy and check the settings. Some sites give error if you don't allow them to deposit cookies on your harddrive.

Try this.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type: regsvr32urlmon.dll
3. Click OK

And the real answer is:-

Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tick "disable script debugging"

Its a page error, and this tells IE to ignore it.
