View Full Version : Unable to connect to the Internet

I have setup 2 systems, both running Windows 2000 SP2 (since updated to SP3) and am unable to access the Internet unless the user account is setup as an Administrator. One system has a firewall (Zone Alarm 3), but the problem predates its installation.
A subsequent problem has occurred with the upgrade from Norton Anti-Virus 2002 to Norton System Works 2003 which is that POP/SMTP e-mail cannot be sent or received except on the Administrator account that the software was installed.
Any ideas?

If it is a user rights issue, try copying the Admin user as a new name, and see how it works with that user. If not, it might be the environment that is loaded for Administrator that is correct and the environment for the other users is not. Chances are you set everything up while logged in as admin. To be honest, I'm not sure what options would need reconfiguring as another user. I wouldn't expect this to be a problem.
