You need TV-out on your video card.

now-a-days most graphics cards come out with an option called TV-OUT which allows you to view your computer through a TV.

alternatively you can get a little box called a T.V View not sure how it works but Dick Simth's Electronics sells them

or you can purchase a T.V card which allows you to wacth tv on your computer which also comes with the T.V Out option.

if your graphics card has T.V.out you will able to see a yellow round port on the back of it, and you should of been supplied with a cord having a yellow plug at each end, one end plugging into that yellow port on your g-card and the other end plugging into video-in on your tv or your VCR.

hope that helped!

It depends on what you mean by use as a monitor ;)

If you want to be able to surf websites (and so be able to read very fine text) then you will be very disappointed. The sharpness of a TV just isn't good enough for that, unless you had a big plasma screen with a VGA connector.

If you want to watch DVD movies or even admire the winamp visual plugins then it is just fine.

Playing games isn't that good on a TV as you are usually limited to a resolution just below 800 by 600 and the colours look awful.

Monitors are getting pretty cheap these days...
