Hi,
I am a student at UCOL, which uses 2000 versions of Microsoft Publisher, and at home i have windows xp version, and they are not compatiable as i found out the ahrd way, by doing a assignment due today....and sending it to my ucol addy this morning and trying to open it and finding it cannot be opened since its a later version of publisher trying to open in a older version...
So can someone ehre offer some help if possible and let me email them my assignment and for them to convert it into a version possible for 2000 version of Publisher, and return it back to me...
If you dont want to put your email addy on here, just ask for mine and i'll happily give it to you :-)

Many thanks in advance

Chris

Did you save it as an older version when you saved it for submission?

Have you tried saving into a couple of different formats?

well i never thought that 2000 version wouldnt show xp versions of publisher made docoments...so i emailed the doc to my ucol addy, and traveled 20 mins on the bus to UCOL so i can print it and hand it in...and i got here and tried opening it and it says it cannot open newer versions of publisher docs.....
And i now cannot change or open or anything with it :-(

cssinclair83,
Send your Publisher doco to BabeRuth32 @ hotmail dot com

and I'll convert it to an 'older' version for you. If you wish to zip it up please use WinZip.

Cheers, Babe.

When you save your Publisher XP document at home you can save as Win 98 or Win 2000 version format to send to your Win 2000 version at school.

All Office XP versions allow you to save the document in an earlier format.

Many thanlks once again :-)
got it in on time :D

also with the publisher being able to save document in a earlier format (98,2000) is this also the same with Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel...

SIAS*. It's a good idea to try out these minor compatibility things before the assignment's due in an hour. :D

Sorry I didn't realise exactly what the problem was in your other thread. You can send it to me and I will convert it if you like.. (win)zipped will probably be best.

Gosh - I hope you're not referring to me as a he, are you?

If so, let me direct you to a lovely wee article called Women In IT (http://xtramsn.co.nz/business/0,,5008-1900214,00.html)

Hey, not a problem - I'm used to it. I've got a rather gender ambiguous first name (Jayce) also, so customers and (l)users I used to correspond with via email at my old job were always surprised to find out I'm not a guy. No, my name is not short for Jayson. No, I'm not a bloke. I'm all feminine and s#*t.

:D Hope someone else can help you out with the Publisher thing... I've scoured the application archives here and there is no Publisher XP to be seen. Must put that on the shopping list :)

csinclair83
14-11-2002, 11:28 AM
hehe great that ur used to it but..i still should have known somehow...

I've just uploaded the file to a webpage

http://www.geocities.com/tear_drops83/downloadpublish.html?1037226312330

so anyone can download it..and convert it and send it to me on 2022147@ucol.ac.nz

Doing it for you now!

Just have to Install publisher XP

CYaBro
14-11-2002, 11:58 AM
Done!

Had to zip it up because after converting it to Pub2k format the file size jumped from about 400k to about 3MB!

Let me know if you don't have Winzip. I can zip it in something else if needed or send it unzipped but don't know how long it will take to send then!

In Tools|Customies(or options) there should be an option there to make it default to saving in 2000 format.
