Hi

I have been trying to install this on my PC from Win 98. It goes through
all the installation screens fine (no error messages). However, when
it does the final reboot to finish off, the Win 2000 splash screen
shows, the small progress bar fills about half way and then the whole
thing just freezes. I can only ever start in Safe Mode.

I have tried clean reinstalling, the repair option but no luck.
I also had the same problem with Windows 2000 advanced server.

Have searched MS knowledge base, am at my wits end here! Has anyone
else had a similar problem and solved it?

Any help/suggestions appreciated

Thanks

It may be having a hard time initializing some hardware you have. Otherwise, supposedly a DOS install makes it cleaner, try booting off of the CD-ROM (Bios tweak may be required).
Otherwise, no comments just yet, I've heard of stuff like that lots, so I'll see.

What are the specs of your computer? When you boot in safe mode are there any clues in the event logs? Have you actually gone off and made a coffee while it was stuck? -you may find it's just very very slow. Do you have a CD Writer in that machine?
