It's got a new colourful interface as well, looks gay to me, but i think its cause they want to integrate it into the winXP colour scheme.

>>> Help us improve MSN Messenger

Errrr..... HOW??? Oh there: "Click here to join the Customer Experience Improvement Program." How do I get rid of that box so that it doesn't getted clicked behind my back? At least the "collect anonymous information about how I use ....." wasn't ticked by default.

Still, I am mighty suspicious... :O

I could kick The Girl's backside for her, downloading and installing it this morning. X-(

I'm surprised Messenger Plus!
still works with it.
Although not in the Main MSN Messenger window, only in the Chat boxes.

In my own opinion the colour scheme is rooted. So many unwanted alerts.
And advertising.
Without Plus! working in the main window it gives me advetising.

So, luckily I found the old 4.6 version on my HDD.

MSN - scmem ess en.

for anyone wanting something a little less bloated (like 200k download vs a ka-jillion megs for msn) try easymessage from http://www.easymessage.net
it's still a little immature, but is constantly being improved. it's compatible with msn messenger and icq too, so you can do all your messaging from one program. it's freeware.
others use trillion, I don't though. i think JM likes it...

I downloaded MSN Messenger 5.0 was 2.39MB for me. Maybe mines a beta or something.

Trillian is definitely my favourite. But if I need a messaging program on a computer quickly I always get EasyMessage.

There is one major advantage with Easy Message. It FULLY SUPPORTS emoticons. Talking to an ICQer you get ICQ emoticons. Talking with a MSNer you get MSN emoticons.

There is no other one that does that as far as I'm aware.

JM, can you talk to an ICQer and an MSNer in the same converstion? I've never tried coz I don't have any ICQ contacts...

>>There is no other one that does that as far as I'm aware.

Trillian Pro, although its technically not the 'real' emoticons, they have a load of other emoticons that other im software dont, so if your chatting with a fellow Trillian Pro user, you have a load more emoticons to play with, you can get it here

http://greyscale.orcon.net.nz/trillian pro.exe 2.9MB

although its software that you need to pay for, so its useless unless you register it...somehow ;)
