Attempting to open a project file I created last night that is password protected. On trying to open it I am getting the following error message.
"The operation could not be completed because the source file contains invalid project data or the total number of rows would exceed the limit of 1,048,000 rows in a project. Validate the data in the source file, insert fewer rows, delete some rows, or consider dividing your project into subprojects to provide more space for tasks and resources." When I click on OK nothing happens. I cannot locate the file in windows explorer.

It sounds like the file is corrupt.
That does not explain why you cannot find it however, as it must be there to give project the error...

There may be little option but to start again, but you should save a backup copy elsewhere net time.

If you are using MS Project 98 then you need to install the Service Release 1 update see PRJ98_SR1 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q185102)

If you are using MS Project 2000 then use the following method(s) from the Microsoft Knowledge Base article
Poject2000 - Operation Cannot Be Completed (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q305644)
